BUCKSPORT

ROOTED IN FOLKLORE AND MYSTERY

Across the river from Fort Knox, the town of Bucksport offers stunning views of Penobscot Bay and the Narrows Bridge which features the tallest public bridge observatory in the world. Guests to the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory can experience 360-degree views of the Penobscot River and Bay, the Maine countryside and the distant western mountains. Its central location makes the port an ideal stop for small vessels to overnight, with a close proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Also known for its stories of folklore and mystery, the town's mile-long waterfront walkway offers views of the bay beyond compare with stops such as the town’s restored railroad station turned historical society. Inside this unique building you can learn all about Bucksport’s eventful past through photos, exhibits and stories.

Entirely unique and up and coming to Bucksport is the groundbreaking sustainable salmon farm, which will be one of the largest land-based aquaculture projects in the world.
